February is Bikewise month – We’re holding a memorial/ celebratory ride next week to celebrate the lives of those lost or injured while cycling ; to share our love of cycling and our desire to make Auckland’s roads more welcoming for all who would like to cycle more.
Please come. Beginner cyclists are encouraged – the ride gives the option of riding on the Tamaki Drive shared path and/or the road, and we will provide bike buddies if required. Skilled cyclists will be invited to support newbies as needed.
We are fortunate to have the support of Ngati Whatua, who will begin the ride with a karakia at Britomart. The ceremony at Takaparawha Point will be quite short, and allow those who need to get home after work to go on their way without too much delay. A guided ride will return to Britomart according to demand on the day.
