Elizabeth, our friend in charge of Communications at the SH16 Motorway Upgrade project, has contacted us with news of another small adjustment to the Causeway section of the NW Cycleway route. (She also supplied this superb aerial photo.)
“On Friday of this week part of the northwestern cycleway will shift up on to the T2 lane of the motorway, between the Causeway Bridge and the approach to the Rosebank motorway off-ramp. There will be a gated crossover system in place, similar to what’s been in use for several months at the Great North Road end of the Causeway Upgrade Project.
Our staff will be on hand at the gates and to guide cyclists through the transition.
As ever, we appreciate the cycling community’s patience, goodwill and courtesy (there’s lots of it about – thanks!) as we get on with improving the cycleway.
