On a beautiful, crisp winter’s day in 2024, twenty people turned up for Bike Eastern Suburbs‘ inaugural Love Your Path working bee on the shared path from St Johns to Glen Innes.
Stage one of Te Ara Ki Uta Ki Tai opened in late 2016 but over time had become neglected and infested with pest plants. Love Your Path has been working to restore and enhance the path with weeding, mulching, planting and collecting rubbish.
What is Love Your Path and how can you bring it to your local path? Read the full story here.
This Sunday from 9-11 am the Love Your Path team is having a celebration to mark two years since that day. Everyone is invited to recognise and thank the wonderful volunteers who have made it such a success.
If you’ve ever ridden up the path and appreciated the planting or want to check it out for the first time, feel free to drop by to say hello. The team meets at Sunhill Fresh Mart, 317 St Johns Rd at 9am. There will be snacks and a cake cutting around 10.00 am.
