Biketober 2025 reminded us what’s possible when people on bikes come together.
What a month it’s been! From group rides to family days, creative costumes to bike scavenger hunts — this year’s Biketober has been full of connection, colour, and community. The calendar was chocka with events of every kind in every corner of Auckland.
We aimed to make this year the biggest Biketober ever. Did we make it? We sure did! And by more than a little. A whopping 65 events took place across the month! That’s close to double the last record, which was 39.
The visibility of 65 fabulous events across the region matters. As we welcome newly-elected Councillors and Local Board members, we have showcased how their communities come alive on bikes. This sets a foundation to support bike-friendly decisions for their time in office.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make this month such a celebration of biking in Tāmaki Makaurau.
It doesn’t stop there. Let’s continue the momentum with a brilliant Biketober 2026!

A massive shoutout to everyone who supported our Big Bike-Off Fundraising Challenge earlier this year. From Bike Burbs to individuals, to our match funders Sandfield, Zoomin, and Lime – you all helped make Biketober 2025 the best one yet. Your support powered our biggest and brightest celebration so far!
We’re also so grateful to everyone who created Biketober events and activities. You’ve given generously of your time, skills and phenomenal creativity to keep the wheels turning all month long. Wow! It’s been a fabulous ride.
