Opened in July 2025, the Chinese Conservation Education Trust Centre at 28 Telford Avenue, Mt Eden, provides a venue for a range of community activities in the Albert-Eden area. One of their activities is a new Bike Hub.
What is the Chinese Conservation Education Trust?
The Chinese Conservation Education Trust (CCET) has been dedicated to fostering a love for and understanding of New Zealand’s unique landscapes, plants, and wildlife since 2002.

The Trust is committed to educating this community about climate mitigation and environmental stewardship. It operates by encouraging active participation to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
Why is the Chinese Conservation Education Trust creating a Bike Hub?
The CCET Bike Hub project is designed to tackle environmental and community challenges by reducing carbon dioxide emissions. It’ll also prevent bikes from ending up in landfill. By encouraging the repair and reuse of bikes, the Trust aims to promote sustainable practices within the community.
This initiative also strengthens connections within the Albert-Eden community through volunteer-led repair efforts. Volunteers will gain valuable skills while working together to refurbish bikes. The Hub will foster a sense of community and active participation in sustainability.
What impact will the new Bike Hub have?
By providing accessible transportation options, the Bike Hub will enhance mobility and promote independence.
As more people embrace cycling as a mode of transport, the Bike Hub will facilitate mode shift and promote behaviour changes that reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
