This month’s Bike Breakfast happens on…. Star Wars Day, aka May the Fourth be with you!
We meet at Scarecrow Kitchen (corner of Victoria and Kitchener St) from 7:30am on Thursday 4 May. All welcome – you don’t even have to arrive by bike.
It’s been quite a month for Jedi mind powers: rain is not the cyclist’s friend at the best of times, and April provided new, sometimes biblical, definitions of a damp ride. We’d love to hear your first-hand accounts of how to prepare, how to stay dry, how to dodge the showers or just give yourself over to them, and how to dry off afterwards. Bike Auckland also has a couple of classic blogs on the subject,
Of course, it hasn’t all been grey skies and puddles. The last week of April, with its skies of blue and gentle breezes, was spectacular for getting around on bikes – even if it was a little cooler. And that’s a perfect excuse to warm up with good coffee, great food and epic company on Thursday morning.
Remember: no one checks to see if you arrive by bike, and we don’t check how many rides you have done since our last breakfast! All you need to attend is yourself and an interest in chatting about biking around Auckland, whether for yourself, your friends, your children, or other life forms. See you there!
