Learn to Fix Bikes with Got To Get Out

This event is by Got To Get Out.
Got to learn bicycle maintanence, or get into bike refurbishment?
Biketober is the perfect month to learn more about bikes!
** Also if you have a bike to donate, this would be a great day to rehome it to a good cause!**
Social enterprise Got To Get Out is hosting a Workshop open day / bike maintanence lessson on Sunday 19th October at the Got To Get Out Workshop.
10am-1pm, bring a snack!
Our workshop is located in the Wairau Zero Waste Hub, 5/9 Porana Road, Glenfield Auckland.
GTGO founder Robert Bruce and volunteer bike mechanics will demonstrate and involve you with how we take a ‘discarded unwanted bike’ and turn it into a working, safe, reliable bike – ready to ride for summer.
At this session, starting 10am sharp, we will have a variety of bikes that are in need of full service:
You can get involved with:
- cleaning the bike,
- assessing condition,
- degreasing, lubing,
- removing chains,
- changing out cables
- replacing brake pads
- test riding, if we are lucky!
At the end of this session you should have learned a great deal about how to look after your own bike, a do basic repairs, or maybe you want to get involved more often.
If you want to join us as a regular part of our volunteer team, this is a great time to get to know us too!
** If you have a bike to donate, this would be a great day for it, contact workshop@gottogetout.com to discuss this **
