Frocks on Bikes joins a magical evening with a ride to Auckland’s galleries and museums for White Night

Auckland Arts Festival 2011 presents White Night on Saturday 12th March

Let’s join the “Storm of artistic excitement” when Auckland’s galleries and museums will stay open until midnight, featuring special exhibitions, activities and performances.

A wonderful opportunity to dress up and, using the perfect mode of transport for the event, visit the different White Night sites by bike.

Meet at 6pm at Aotea Square where White Night launches with drumming, bands and other performances.

From there at about 6.40pm we gently ride towards Ponsonby to Whitespace Gallery on Crummer Road for an operatic performance in the window from 7pm – 7.45pm.

We will follow a route to 8 more venues ending back at Aotea Square

  • Objectspace 8 Ponsonby Road
  • Two Rooms 16 Putiki Street Newton (not far from Ponsonby Rd)
  • Starkwhite 510 K’ Rd
  • Artspace 300 K’ Rd
  • Museum in the domain
  • Gus Fisher Gallery 74 Shortland Street
  • The Auckland Art Gallery
  • AUT WA building Level 2 55 Wellesley Street East
  • and then, Whew! Back to Aotea Square and that’s 10 art venues in one night!

Join Frocks on Bikes at any point, drop off whenever you like and linger as long as you wish along the way

Dress: Your sparkliest, high viz frocks and light your bike up.

There are many other galleries taking part. Have a look at the Auckland Festival website under White Night for the whole programme.

An exciting evening for Frocks and stylish gents
