We are delighted to announce our new Chair and Chief Biking Officer

Following the resignation of our long-standing former chair Barb Cuthbert, we are delighted to announce our new Chair and Chief Biking Officer.
As always, Bike Auckland will continue to mobilise our community to make Auckland a better place for everyone who wants to ride a bike, and the new Chair and Chief Biking Officer bring awesome skills, sparkling personalities and endless enthusiasm for all things bike-related to help welcome in an exciting future for our pedal-powered movement!

Our new Chief Biking Officer: Alessandra FrançoiaAlessandra joins us in a new role as Chief Biking Officer. She will develop and coordinate our programmes of work and lead the Bike Auckland crew, volunteers and supporters. Alessandra is a keen bike commuter and leisure cyclist. She brings to Bike Auckland strong skills and experience in advocacy, project and stakeholder management, communications, community engagement, and safety management (including road safety). Alessandra comes to us from the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP). Before this, she worked with Safe Kids Brasil and Safe Kids New Zealand. Our new Chair: Tony MitchellTony is a keen leisure and race cyclist who brings to Bike Auckland strong commercial, strategic, leadership, media and governance skills and experience. He is currently President of the Oceania Cycling Confederation and a board member of UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) and the Men’s Health Trust. Tony was Chief Executive of the Marketing Association and has worked in executive roles in national and international organisations, including membership organisations like Bike Auckland.

Tony and Ale have been out and about meeting the team, our supporters and stakeholders and look forward to meeting many more of you in the new year!
