If elected to represent Maungakiekie Tamaki, I, josephine bartley, pledge:
I believe people of all ages should feel able to bike safely to get around. Auckland needs more climate-friendly transport to ensure a sustainable and resilient Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, protecting our environment and communities for future generations. If elected, I commit to making a safe, connected cycle network a priority.
Comments
I do think some roads should not have cycle lanes because they are extremely dangerous even for drivers so having the cycle lanes where it is safest for the rider would be ideal, not on motorways either. Also some of these cycle lanes in how they have been installed could be improved e.g Taniwha Street and having cars parked outside the lanes in the middle of the road seems like it could have been designed better. I love Te Ara Ki Uta ki Tai because i can get to the city without going on busy dangerous stretches of road.
