Are weather worries holding you back from commuting by bike? Kiwi rider Jessie Vidal has built an app for bike commuters to help you know at a glance if the weather is ideal – or not so much – for your ride.

Ridecast analyses wind, gusts, rain, and temperature. It gives riders one simple Ride Score – should you ride today or not? No fussing with multiple weather apps, just a clear answer before you head out. It’s tailored for people on bikes, so no trawling through generic forecasts. The Ride Score has a heavy weighting on gusts – because that’s what actually matters when you’re on a bike, explains Jessie.

Jessie invites Bike Auckland readers to be among the first to try out RideCast.

Jessie says:

“It’s in beta right now and I’m looking for NZ riders to try it out ahead of the full launch. It’s completely free and takes about 30 seconds to sign up.”
