Route Description
This 7 km Christmas Lights Safari Ride takes you through the most festive parts of central Auckland. We begin at the Queens Wharf Bike Hub opposite the Ferry Terminal (near the Te Komititanga Christmas Tree), ride through the Viaduct’s Christmas Wonder Lane, climb gently toward Freemans Bay, and arrive at the highlight of the night: Franklin Road — one of New Zealand’s most iconic Christmas light displays. Riders will walk the Franklin Road section while bikes are supervised at the top. We then continue to Ponsonby Central for a hot chocolate or ice cream stop at the Chocolate Factory. From there, the route heads along Ponsonby Rd, K Rd, drops back into the city, passing through Aotea Square’s Christmas installation, and finishes with a slow roll down the Queen Street Light Trail.
