Bupa Healthy Cities Challenge — Flat White Ride (West Auckland)

West Auckland’s Flat White Ride is back — a free map connecting around 10 routes (roughly 65km all up) between New Lynn, Avondale, Henderson, Glen Eden, Titirangi, Green Bay and the Te Whau pathway. It’s a mixed bag for a mixed bunch of riders: flat off-road shared paths, a few hillier on-road stretches, and one scenic gravel track through the Waitākere Ranges (kauri dieback tyre-washing applies).
This September, EcoMatters has partnered with Bupa for the Healthy Cities Challenge: ride, walk, scoot or skate any part of the route, then enter online and share a photo of your outing. Every entry funds a native tree planted in West Auckland, and puts you in the draw for a $3000 e-scooter package — plus two runner-up café vouchers from Deco Eatery and Bodega Eatery — thanks to Bupa, and the Waitākere Ranges and Whau Local Boards.
Free to enter. Runs until 30 September 2026. Pick up a printed map at EcoMatters Bike Hubs (New Lynn and Henderson) or download it online: ecomatters.org.nz/flatwhiteride
