Bikes & Trucks: a Blind Zone Workshop

February 8, 2018 @ 7:00 am - 7:40 am

Free

If you ride on the road, you’ve probably wondered what can be seen from the driver’s seat of trucks, buses, and construction vehicles. This workshop gives you a chance to find out – and, crucially, to learn where the blind spots are and ways to proceed safely if you find yourself on the road with heavy vehicles.

This Blind Zone Workshop is specifically aimed at any cyclists who use the road: commuters, sports and leisure bikers. It’s delivered as part of CAN’s Share the Road programme, run by qualified facilitators, and based on a customised and industry-proven curriculum.

Please register for this free workshop here using this online registration form. Questions? Please contact Julian Hulls.

Over 40mins, the programme will cover:

* A briefing, setting the scene on bike safety
* Demonstrating the features of a heavy vehicle, and hands-on exercises to identify blind zones
* After the workshop we’ll have coffee and a muffin for those attending, at Café Mont just across the road

(Note: CAN also runs regular Share the Road workshops that put heavy vehicle drivers in the bike seat and vice versa. See here for more information about the Share the Road campaign).
