Community DIY bike workshop needs volunteers

Pippa

Auckland’s fledgling community DIY bike workshop is in need of some volunteers so we can continue to support and promote Auckland’s bicycle culture.

If you’ve visited us at events, come into the workshop or just heard about what we’re working to create, why not come and be a part of it? No prior knowledge of bikes is required, just some healthy enthusiasm!

On Sunday 27th of March Tumeke Cycle Space is holding an orientation for new volunteers (or undecided ones) from 10:00am until 11:00am. Come along to this and be brought up to speed with Tumeke Cycle Space: the story so far. You can learn more about what we’re trying to achieve and how we’re doing that as well as finding out what the deal is with our workshop space and the sharing arrangement we have with Tangleball. We’ll also talk about how we fundraise, some of the varied ways you could be involved as a volunteer AND we’ll treat you to some of our renowned bicycle blended vegan bannana berry smoothies.

Sound good? Well, you can then stay for the monthly specific skill
workshop – this month will be focusing on derailleurs, and after that from 12:00 the workshop will be functioning in its regular capacity.
