What is it about bikes and fashion? Well, firstly, everyone knows that people on bikes are really, really, really ridiculously good-looking. And that if you’re in retail of any kind, parking a bike out front is shorthand for ‘shop here, glamour fiends,’ or simply ‘yum.’
And recently, Metro magazine was first out of the gates in using the pink path as a location for a fashion shoot. Glam on wheels.

Alas, due to weather conditions, today’s Fashion Week bike-themed Sunday market at Silo Park has been cancelled. We’ll just have to hope that Frocks on Bikes finds a way to revisit the Zoolander-inspired photo competition they had planned for the day. The #bluesteelpinkpath meme is too good not to release into the wild!
And let’s hope for better weather for Dapper Friday, bright and early this Friday, March 4th. It’s an event for well-dressed blokes on bikes – and those who love well-dressed blokes on bikes. And earlybirds.
The Men’s Dapper Ride is a pre-work morning bike gathering of smartly dressed gentlefolk, riding en masse around a brief circuit of the High Street precinct, as part of part of ‘Man Friday‘.
We are welcoming menswear retailers and the public alike to participate in this unique CBD opportunity to showcase new season professional threads. Or, simply don your best daily get-up and enjoy the view from the sidewalk.
The ride commences at 7.30am at Freyberg Square, completing a small circuit leading up High Street, O’Connell Street, Shortland Street and back to Freyberg Square. The circuit will be followed by a professional street-fashion photography session at Freyberg Square, where each morning look will be captured alongside its vehicle. There, you’ll be treated to the finest morning coffee blend to get your day going, thanks to our sponsor Chuffed.
