We are still in crunch mode on a few projects, so updates are few and short – but we thought you’d like to know Waterfront Auckland kicked off one of the most desired projects in their Masterplan!
Yesterday, they had the ceremonial starting of works on the Waterfront Promenade, from Wynyard Quarter to the foot of the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Fittingly, the cycle mode share at the gathering seemed to be somewhere around 10-20%, not the 1-2% we often have in the CBD!
The main path will be around 5m wide, and provide substantial space for relaxed walking and cycling sharing the space (faster cyclists will still be welcome on Westhaven Drive).
And of course, the path and all the extra cyclists will go great with SkyPath over the AHB!
