You’ll Kick Yourself if You Miss this!

BarbC

This is the final boarding call for Cycle Action’s AGM THIS Thursday night! Yes, tonight!

We’d love you to come. Not because we need more scalps – as we’re in the lucky position of having only one vacancy on the committee. We know it will be filled by someone with useful skills – if the idea interests you, send me an email -contact below.

A key area where we DO need help is our infrastructure team – but it doesn’t involve being on the committee. We receive draft project plans for new cycle facilities (or that need advice on how to plug in more facilities) aplenty.

Plus we have opportunities to comment on cycle planning documents, for those who are more interested in strategy rather than nut-and-bolts design. If you can help our team with just one or two of these jobs as your time allows, we’d be SO grateful. Please contact Barb Cuthbert.

We could also do with someone to keep our membership records up to date and email reminders about renewals. It’s not a big job, and you don’t need to need to be on the committee either, but you will get lots of accolades from our team!

At the AGM we have lots of achievements to celebrate and people to thank. We’re also keen to share Kim Sinclair’s ideas for a new cycle connection between Otara and Glen Innes, using esplanade parks and quiet roads. Kim is a talented member of Cycle Action, (he won an Oscar for his day-job on Avatar) and has a great presentation.

We’ll have a few refreshments, so if you ‘Like’ this message, that would be great to get a better idea of the numbers for catering purposes.

Cycle Action Auckland AGM – 6.30pm Thursday, 27th Sept-  Ground floor meeting room, Ellen Melville, Pioneers Womens Centre, Freyberg Square, City Centre.
