DESCRIPTION:This will be a chilled 2.7km ride for families with small children or grandparents with grandchildren. No minimum rider age\, even balance bikes will be fine. \nOn the Moonlight Ride last year we had lots of toddlers hooning it on their balance bikes. Our destination will be the playground at Owairaka Park. We will have morning tea there\, bring your favourite snacks and drinks. We will stop on the way back at the Pump Track in Underwood Park. You’ll be learning how to look after your bike alongside other women\, trans\, and queer folks\, with skilled mechanics also from these communities\, in a friendly environment. These workshops aim to build your confidence to discover more bike repair skills at Bike Hubs all over Tāmaki Makaurau. You are welcome to stay at the end to continue chatting and connecting with other attendees. \nSession two: Shifter Issues Bring ease to your cycle trips. \nThis third session in our series is a practical\, hands-on workshop suitable for those with some bike tinkering experience. \nAt this Shifter Issues 101 workshop\, our WTQ mechanics will take you step by step through: \n\nsafety checking your bike\ntroubleshooting gear shifting problems\ntuning front and rear derailleurs\n\n  \nBring your own bike to practice on if you can. This includes route choice\, crossing points\, riding etiquette\, and sharing paths with others. These rides are perfect for families\, kids\, beginners\, and anyone getting back on a bike. \nEveryone is welcome\, and nobody gets left behind. The journey is the fun part. At the end of each ride\, we’ll enjoy free refreshments and a relaxed chance to ask bike-related questions or get to know your local cycling neighbours. \nPlease bring your own bike and helmet (safety first). E-bikes are welcome\, but the pace will suit regular bikes.
