This is also the date of the 1835 signing of He Whakaputanga- our nation’s Declaration of Independence.  Did you know we had one?\n\n \n\nTHE PLANBring along a story to share about the history of a place in Tāmaki Makaurau. This could be the story behind a place name\, an important feature of the landscape like a maunga (mountain) or awa (river)\, or about how a particular suburb came to exist. Did you know the suburb of Howick was a Fencibles settlement\, built as a military defense post?\n \nHOW WE ROLL\n\nJoin us for an after-work craft ale or two!
