Update on Northwestern Cycleway in the Te Atatu area

Update from the Causeway Alliance on changes to the Northwestern Cycleway

We previously communicated that a couple of changes to the Northwestern Cycleway in the Te Atatu area would take place during November 2014.  Due to revisions of the construction programme the timing of these changes has now been moved and is outlined below.

In late January 2015, cycle path users will be detoured along Alwyn Ave, away from the Te Atatu Rd/SH16 intersection, while works take place. We anticipate this detour will be in place for around 6 months to allow construction of the underpass not to affect cyclists and pedestrians too much.

The McCormick Green section of cycleway which is currently detoured around Royal View Rd was originally scheduled to be returned to its original position by November 2014. However, construction works on the new underpass mean this timing is not possible and the path will be realigned as soon as possible.  We hope to have better clarity on the timing of this in January.
