It’s the first Wednesday of the month! That means the regular Spokes Ladies ride, brought to you by Frocks on Bikes. Style… Art…Music…Conversation… Fine food and beverages… all with Bicycles.
Here are the details of April’s ride. Join the group along the way if you prefer, and you can peel off at any point and head home when you’ve had enough fun.
- 6pm meet at entrance to St Kevins Arcade ( 191 -197 Karangahape Road)
- 6.10 pm group ride to Rebel Soul Records – for a VIP peruse with owner and record collector Tito (3 Samoa House Lane, off 283 Karangahape Road)
- 6.45 pm to RM Gallery for the opening of Lucy Meyles “Serving Suggestion” (3 Samoa House Lane, off 283 Karangahape Road)
- 7.15 pm Group ride via ‘Te Ara I Whiti’ light path down to ‘The Botanist’ for a refreshment (Shed 13, City Works Depot, 90 Wellesley Street West)
- 8 pm group ride to Silo Park to ‘Food Space’ for dinner… a mid-week street food retreat
- 8.45 – 9 pm group ride via Karangahape Road up to ‘Golden Dawn – Tavern of Power’ at 134 Ponsonby Road, Ponsonby Road for Damon Palermo all the way from the USA (AKA DJ Magic Touch) with support from Peach Milk and DJ Samuel Harmony. Entry is FREE. Damon is a renowned Ambient producer and Disco/House DJ. Played live at Sonar, Unsound and CTM, and is also a formidable Disco/ House DJ, appearing at Berlins legendary Panorama Bar, Lisbons Lux Fragil and WWW in Tokyo.
All bike types/styles/ages/fitness levels and speeds are encouraged. Ball gowns or bike shorts – dress for the occasion. Wear whatever you dream of. We have a ‘give it a go’ inclusive policy so whether you’re a newbie or hardcore, it’s about getting women on bikes together.
