Rides for a Sunday in Spring

1 min read

Whether an organized ride with friends or a lazy pedal for brunch, Sunday rides in spring are my favorite.  Don’t be deterred by the weather (it’s Auckland – wait 30 minutes and it will change).  Stow a jacket in your basket and head out this weekend.  If you are looking for fun on two wheels there are a couple of things to check out Sunday 7 October:

Wynyard Quarter Family Bike Day (11am-2pm): “Get ready for summer biking. Bring your bikes to the Wynyard Quarter for a maintenance check, have-a-go on the Bigfoot Confidence course, bike decoration, face painting & more. Enter the draw to win bike shop vouchers.”

Greenwoods Corner to Cornwall Park Heritage Ride (departs 11am ASB Greenwoods Corner): a sedate Sunday morning cycle ride  from Greenwoods Corner through Sir John Logan Campbell’s Cornwall Park.  Make that jacket a tweed one and pack a picnic hamper.
