March is nearly upon us, which means farewell to February and the Bike Challenge… but Bike Breakfast is on its way.
The March Bike Breakfast is this Thursday (the 2nd) from 7:30am, at Scarecrow Kitchen on the corner of Kitchener Street and Victoria Street in the CBD.
As always, everyone is warmly welcome – no need to arrive by bike, it’s absolutely free, just bring an appetite for great bike chat, good company, and fine coffee.
And a bonus: our wonderful Duncan, who organizes the breakfasts, will shout you coffee… because he’s absolutely smoked the Bike Challenge Leader Board for the most days riding to work AND the highest number of kilometers biked in February. What a legend! (Okay, officially there are still a few rides to log, and tallies to tot up, but it’s looking good).
Enjoy a photo-story glimpse of Duncan’s month on wheels, below…
What a February it has been! The early starts…
…welcomed us with some excellent sunrises.
Some of the mornings were so still, crossing the causeway on the Northwestern cycleway was magical.
Of course there were those really wet days in week three, which meant watching for debris on the paths and roads…
…and there are always a few hills to climb, such as the one up to Bridge 60 over SH18.
…but overall we had a congestion-free trip compared to the motorways…
…and at times it seemed everyone was wanting to join in the fun.
