Spokes Ladies: a new monthly ride from Frocks on Bikes

Bike Auckland

‘Style… Art… Music… Conversation… Fine food and beverages… All with Bicycles.’ That’s the promise of a new regular event: Spokes Ladies, brought to you by the fab Frocks on Bikes on the first Wednesday of every month. Which means the first ride is Wednesday 2nd March 2016.

Here’s the format:

Meet at 6pm at St Kevin’s Arcade on K’ Road, on the first Wednesday of the month. Each ride will last approximately 2.5 hours give or take. We will include a couple of stops on each ride. Maybe a park for a mini picnic, gallery openings, bar, restaurant, or even a music gig.

All bike types/ styles/ ages/ fitness levels and speeds are encouraged. Ball gowns or bike shorts – dress for the occasion. Wear whatever you dream of.

We have an inclusive ‘give it a go’ policy – so whether you’re a newbie or hardcore, it’s about getting women on bikes together.

Let’s ride.

And here are the details for the first ride, Wednesday 2nd March 2016:

  •  6pm Meet at entrance to St Kevins Arcade (191 -197 Karangahape Road)
  •  6.10 pm Group ride to the Bath Street Gallery for Claudia Jowitts “Liberal Application” opening ( 43 Bath St, Parnell)
  • Group ride up to ‘Rosie’s’ for a quick Cocktail/refreshment (82 Gladstone Road, Parnell)
  • Fish and Chips (‘Catch a Fish Takeaway’ at 64 Gladstone Road, Parnell) in the Parnell Rose Gardens
  • Approximately 8.30 – 9 pm head back to K’road/ ride ends (or just cruise off when you feel like it)
