A Queen’s Birthday Ride – and a new bike repair shop out west

Bike Auckland

At K Rd’s Open Streets, we got talking with a lovely couple, Colleen and Dean Jamieson, who’d biked to the event with a small group of keen new riders. The outing was one of a series they’ve started running for newish riders, alongside their new bike repair business in Glendene (always good to know about local bike shops!).

There’s another ride coming up over Queen’s Birthday weekend. Details below…

The Bike Maintenance Shop has created supportive friendly social rides tailored for those new to bike riding to build confidence and for riders who would like to meet others, enjoy the company and the leisurely ride away from main roads. If this suits you, the next ride details are…

When:    Sunday 5th June @ 10am  (weather permitting)

Where:   Pakuranga Rotary Pathway Ride

Starting from Panmure Bridge through to Prince Regent Drive in Farm Cove.

We will cycle the flat paved shared path weaving past the Pakuranga sailing club, offering great views up and down the Tamaki River.

The route features panels of historical information about the area.

When we reach Half Moon Bay Marina, we will stop for refreshments and lunch (pack a lunch or buy a lunch)

After lunch we bike back to our starting point – and may be able to add the Panmure basin into the ride if you are wanting to go further.
