NextBike is looking to start a public bike share in Christchurch.
This has already made the news:
The crowd-funding campaign got underway over the weekend and has already raised $5420 of a $45,000 target, which would put around 30 free bikes in four popular areas.
The plan is to fundraise for the technical costs (like the leasing requirements + actual installation of the bikes) to get the Bike Share up and running. NextBike have a branding partner who will fund the operating costs if they can crowd fund these initial set-up costs.
