We’ll finish where we started and have a coffee and chat at the cafe at Corban Estate Arts Centre. \nThis isn’t a hard ride so don’t feel you need to be a lycra-wearing uber cyclist to join in. If you are a lycra-wearing uber cyclist\, you are more than welcome to join us. \nIf you live centrally and want to meet as a group to take the train to Henderson we can arrange that. \nNutters Ride Together is a group of people from all walks of life who enjoy leisurely bike rides. We’re also people living with or supporting those with mental illness. Our aim is to meet on a monthly basis and create a community of nutters who ride together.

Environmental destruction and climate change are big and scary problems we need to be doing more to address. Cool Earth helps indigenous communities on the front lines of rainforest destruction earn more from keeping the forest standing than they would otherwise earn from clearing it. Win Win! \nYou can chip in and support the campaign here. \nThe ride is approximately 30km\, and will travel at an easy pace. DESCRIPTION:Come join us on our Whānau Guided Bike Tours. Weekly on a Thursday from 5PM. It will be an easy\, relaxing way for the whānau to participate in a casual activity and to see some of our community via our waterways. \nOur excursion begins at The Ōtara Bike Burb (OBB) in the Ōtara Town Centre\, where our guides and road marshals will take you on an easy ride to Ngati Ōtara (approx 4kms or less) and back. \nHelmets are provided for your Tamariki and Rangatahi if you don’t have one. We also make sure everyone is familiar with the equipment and our safety protocol\, and set out to explore the area. \nWe’ll get a little exercise\, enjoy the fresh air\, and on return to the OBB we will enjoy some complimentary light refreshments. Dan’s been moving dancefloors for well over a decade – he’s played the country’s biggest festivals and dancefloors\, shared the DJ booth with some of dance music’s brightest stars\, and has even remixed the legendary Fatboy Slim.\n \nDan was scheduled to play our last Bike Rave in May\, but unfortunately was struck down by COVID at the last moment. DESCRIPTION:The Bike Owairaka Te Toi Uku/Crown Lynn Clayworks ride event is an easy\, safe cycle ride suitable for a range of people on bikes from confident riders to those who are a little bit rusty and somewhat hesitant about their skills. \nThe 9km (4.5km each way) ride will be led by Bike Owairaka (Jarvie Tunnicliffe and Jo Johnson) along the Avondale to New Lynn shared pathway from Alan Wood Park\, Bollard Avenue\, Owairaka to Te Toi Uku/Crown Lynn Clayworks museum at Ambrico Place.  There we will safely park up while enjoying a guided tour of the museum and its environs led by heritage consultant Robyn Mason. SUMMARY:Bike Ride and Picnic at Pt Erin
DESCRIPTION:Weather dependent! Check the Facebook event page on the day if in doubt.\n \n\n \nMeet at Sunhill Garden Centre at 11.00 and head down the shared path to Tamaki Drive. We will stop at Orakei Rd (11.15) and at Tamaki Drive (11.25) for people to join us. Ride the cycleway to the Viaduct and a short ride on the road to get us to the St Mary’s Bay path. We will stop at the end for a picnic lunch and retrace our wheel tracks home (with maybe a little diversion on the way)!\nBring picnic food\, drinks\, and a blanket or chair.\nThis is a casual\, slow\, no-drop ride for anyone who is able to confidently ride a 20km round trip. Kids welcome\, but you must be confident of their ability to ride the distance and ride safely. We will stop and regroup along the way.\n \nCaution: There will be tram tracks. Always cross them at an angle.

SUMMARY:Light the Night 2025 - #1
DESCRIPTION:Daylight saving is over. Time to dig out your bike lights and make sure you are seen.Dress up your bike and yourself and come for a ride along the shared path from Mission Bay to St Heliers and back.Meet 6.30pm at the clock tower. To make it a bit longer\, we will start by riding towards the Tamaki Yacht Club and turning around in the car park there.Afterwards we can either have a bite in Mission Bay or head into town.We want it to be a bike party\, showing people that you don’t have to take your car if you’re going out on a Saturday evening. It’s also a good chance to see what people are using to make themselves more visible at night and talk to others about their lighting.\nThe essentials are:\nYou need a bike and the attitude that you are going to enjoy yourself. Lights are essential. Everything else is optional.\nOptional stuff:\nA Bluetooth speaker and your favourite tunesA bike lit up like a Christmas treeAn outrageous costume\nHow it works:\nWe meet up at the start location and get organised and wait for any stragglers.Hop on our bikes and follow the leader towards town\, turn around at the Tamaki Yacht Club then head to St Heliers and ride back to the start. From there\, those with kids can head home and the rest of us do what we feel like.\n \nFAQ\nWhat does it cost? Zip\, zilch\, nada\, nothing.How long will it take? We will be riding slowly but the aim is to be back at the start by 8.00 pm at the latest.Can I leave any time? Yes\, head home whenever you feel like it.Is anything happening after? Nothing is organised\, but you can meet up with others going your way and carry on the party all the way home.Can I bring friends? Of course\, everyone is welcome.Can I bring my E-bike? Of course E-bikes are welcome.What’s the minimum age? There’s no minimum age but kids should be able confidently ride a bike the full distance. You can carry younger ones on a bike seat. You are responsible for your children\, this is not a drop and leave event.Will it be safe? Experienced riders will be at the front and back. The entire trail is off road and on sealed paths. Only two driveways to cross. There will be a small first aid kit available and also someone who can do basic bike repairs.Who is organising this and who is paying for it? The event is organised by a group of volunteers from Bike Eastern Suburbs\, and Bike East Auckland.What if it rains? If we’re going to cancel\, we will post on the Event page and Bike Eastern Suburbs Facebook page at around 4pm on the day.\nRules:\nWe try and keep rules to a minimum.1. Give way to all other path users.2. No alcohol – we want it kid friendly.3. Keep left and please don’t overtake the lead rider.4. There are a couple of driveways to cross in Mission Bay. You are responsible for looking out for cars crossing.5. Have fun\nNote: This is free\, volunteer run by the community. We accept no liability for anything outside our control. You are responsible for your own safety of your bike and of those around you. All we are doing is providing a start point\, a time and a destination. By turning up you accept these conditions.
