DESCRIPTION:Come join us on our Whānau Guided Bike Tours. Weekly on a Thursday from 5PM. It will be an easy\, relaxing way for the whānau to participate in a casual activity and to see some of our community via our waterways. \nOur excursion begins at The Ōtara Bike Burb (OBB) in the Ōtara Town Centre\, where our guides and road marshals will take you on an easy ride to Ngati Ōtara (approx 4kms or less) and back. \nHelmets are provided for your Tamariki and Rangatahi if you don’t have one. We also make sure everyone is familiar with the equipment and our safety protocol\, and set out to explore the area. \nWe’ll get a little exercise\, enjoy the fresh air\, and on return to the OBB we will enjoy some complimentary light refreshments. Dan’s been moving dancefloors for well over a decade – he’s played the country’s biggest festivals and dancefloors\, shared the DJ booth with some of dance music’s brightest stars\, and has even remixed the legendary Fatboy Slim.\n \nDan was scheduled to play our last Bike Rave in May\, but unfortunately was struck down by COVID at the last moment. DESCRIPTION:The Bike Owairaka Te Toi Uku/Crown Lynn Clayworks ride event is an easy\, safe cycle ride suitable for a range of people on bikes from confident riders to those who are a little bit rusty and somewhat hesitant about their skills. \nThe 9km (4.5km each way) ride will be led by Bike Owairaka (Jarvie Tunnicliffe and Jo Johnson) along the Avondale to New Lynn shared pathway from Alan Wood Park\, Bollard Avenue\, Owairaka to Te Toi Uku/Crown Lynn Clayworks museum at Ambrico Place.  There we will safely park up while enjoying a guided tour of the museum and its environs led by heritage consultant Robyn Mason. If that’s you\, why not come down to the Silo Park Waterfront and try a variety of different cycles from recumbent cycles\, handcycles\, assist power-trikes to wheelchair bikes\, trailer options & more.\n\nThe TryaCycle Event will be held on Sunday 21 May from 11am till 4pm. There will be information on hand around grants to assist you in funding equipment. And/or take to the cycleways with cycles from the equipment loan that has been facilitated by Disability Sport Auckland and the Auckland Whānau Special Needs Support Group. We will have it all here onsite down at Silo Park Waterfront\, Jellicoe Harbour\, 34 Bridgham Street\, Auckland.\n\nNo registration required\, but it’s recommended to book a slot to try a cycle here https://grabyourwheels.nz/events/. Some of the cycles only get brought along if people have booked!\n\nA volunteer support person will be available to ride alongside you.\n\nIt’s smack bang in the heart of Auckland\, next to some wicked protected cycleways and shared paths. So\, even if you already own a hand-cycle\, recumbent\, bike trailer or trike come on down and join in the fun for our Open Day event. Bring your inclusive cycle and we’ll give you a complimentary hot drink voucher. We want to show Tāmaki Makaurau what inclusive cycling is all about.\n\nThere is plenty of parking around Silo Park (including mobility parks) with public accessible toilets close to the playground. Some of the cycles only get brought along if people have booked!\n\nA volunteer support person will be available to ride alongside you.\n\nIt’s smack bang in the heart of Auckland\, next to some wicked protected cycleways and shared paths. So\, even if you already own a hand-cycle\, recumbent\, bike trailer or trike come on down and join in the fun for our Open Day event. Bring your inclusive cycle and we’ll give you a complimentary hot drink voucher. We want to show Tāmaki Makaurau what inclusive cycling is all about.\n\nThere is plenty of parking around Silo Park (including mobility parks) with public accessible toilets close to the playground. The main ferry terminal\, bus and train stations are all under a 30-minutes walk/wheel away.\n\nIf this sounds like you\, then come on down and hang out with the inclusive cycling community! We may even start up our own Inclusive Cycling Bike Burb!\n\nYou can book a session to try out a cycle which may suit you on the safe\, inner-city network.
