DESCRIPTION:Register for this event through the Auckland Climate Festival website. \nIt is 2050 and Auckland’s population is around 2.5 million people. A rapid and complete transformation of the transport and land-use planning system means the way people\, goods and services move around Auckland today is very different from how it was done 27 years ago. \nWe do not need to use our cars as much because there are alternative ways to get around. DESCRIPTION:The final is a series of Open Streets events – closing main streets to cars and opening them to people – Avondale’s first Christmas Parade takes place on Saturday\, 25 November 2023 from 11am to 2pm – just three short hours to soak in the fun – makete\, kai\, music from local artists and DJs and of course\, the parade – showcasing the best of AD – with our theme\, “All Things Bright & Beautiful.” \nAvondale sits at the end of several cool bike paths and a Bike Valet will greet you so you can mill around and enjoy the fun. \nParade floats will leave from the Racecourse at 11am sharp\, travel up Elm St to Rosebank Road\, and to Great North Road where participants will join in the fun on the main street below Avondale Primary School.
