SUMMARY:Building Community Through Bike Trains: A Bike Auckland Community Workshop
DESCRIPTION:What’s all the buzz about bike trains?! \nJoin Bike Auckland in Manukau to learn about bike trains to school from Dominic Ross\, a passionate community activator in Puketāpapa/ Mt Roskill\, who has established successful bike trains for seven local schools in the Mt Roskill/Mt Albert area! Over the past year\, Dom has contributed in revitalizing the Mt Roskill bike community through the bike trains\, in addition to organising regular community bike events. \nA bike train is a group of students and adults who bicycle to school together\, making stops along a previously designated route to pick up other children en route to school. It’s a really fun way to start off the morning\, and a great way to get kids and parents on bikes! \nThis will be a facilitated workshop so that we can get some real ideas and inspiration on paper! \nA three hour gathering\, there will be time to meet your neighbours and strengthen your own connections\, while we discover ways to make others throughout the community and build capacity for your Bike Burb!
