Our Big Bike Film Night BMX ‘Double Feature’ presents two inspirational BMX films –‘Revolution Day: The chase for the Biggest Trick in Action Sports History’ and ‘The Source Park’. \nBoth documentaries showcase motivated individuals that have the devotion and resolution to push boundaries in order to follow their passion\, and dreaming BIG. \nThis one’s for the youngsters who enjoy restoring old school BMX’s\, building jumps and sending it; as well as for the many families who enjoy spending time together at their local BMX race track. We know that BMXing is not just for those who enjoy ripping it up at the skatepark or doing a double\, it’s a sport that no matter what your skill level is or how old you are – it’s for everyone! \n“The context of these films may be BMX themed\, but they are much more than that\, they are about believing in yourself and following your passion” says Brett Cotter\, the Big Bike Film Night’s Curator. “Side by side\, these documentary films have standout values\, outstanding cinematic qualities\, and inspiring stories\, what more could we want in these trying times. Doing a ‘Double Feature’ in a pandemic may seem insane but hey\, when have I ever done things the normal way.” \nMarking 5 years since this incredible achievement\, ‘Revolution Day: The chase for the Biggest Trick in Action Sports History’ catapulted Taupō based BMX rider Jed Mildon into global stardom in 2015. This film chronicles Jed Mildon’s and American rival James Foster’s quest to become the first ever to complete a quadruple backflip on a BMX bike. DESCRIPTION:Wāhinē Otara Road Bike Tours – !! For Women Only !! – “Proudly supported by Auckland Council”\nCome join us for a women’s only bike ride! It will be an easy\, relaxing way for attendees to participate in a casual activity and to see some of our community via our waterways. Our excursion begins at The Otara Bike Burb in the Otara Town centre\, where our guide and OBB Boss Diane will take you on an easy ride to Ngati Otara (approx 4kms or less) and back. We’ll put on our provided helmets if you don’t have one\, make sure everyone is familiar with the equipment and our safety protocol\, and set out to explore the area. We’ll get a little exercise\, enjoy the fresh air\, and return to the OBB for free light refreshments.\nIncludes:\n On-site orientation and bicycle fitting\n Bike guide. Each guide is equipped with radio/cellphone and first aid kit\, as well as bicycle repair kit & extra tubes.\n Free light refreshments at the end.\n Helmets provided if you need one and we have limited bikes available for those who need one.\nSuggestions for Bikers:\n Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and athletic closed-toe shoes.
