SUMMARY:Bike Breakfast - March 2020
DESCRIPTION:Meet us on Thursday 5 March\, from 7.30am- 9-ish at Scullery\, 166 Karangahape Road. \n\n\n\nScullery is super cute and pretty cosy\, so drop in for as little or as long as you like. The famous halloumi & mushrooms are worth the trip!\n\n\nAnd we’ll have a front row seat for the streetscape project\, currently working its way through the middle of K Road. \n\n\n\nCome shoot the breeze about whatever’s on your mind – how you did in the Bike Challenge in February\, upcoming bike path projects\, and everything else on the horizon. As your voice for a better city for people on bikes\, we’re always keen to hear what you’re thinking!\n\n\n\n\n\nBike Breakfast is Bike Auckland’s casual monthly catch-up for people who like bikes. All are welcome\, from every bike tribe\, and you don’t even have to arrive by bike! Just roll up and join the conversation. See you there 🙂

SUMMARY:Bike Breakfast @ Home
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a virtual Bike Breakfast! Obviously our in-person gatherings are off the menu for the next wee while – but routines are good\, and it’s important to stay connected and keep our spirits up. \nSo\, on the first Thursday of the month as usual\, we’re hosting Bike Breakfast… at Home. Your home\, our home\, all the homes\, all day long. \nIn a way\, it’ll be even more sociable than usual. Invite the other members of your bubble! Invite bike friends in other cities! \nAnd above all… invite your bikes! \nBecause the thing is\, at our usual catch-ups all our beautiful bikes sit outside the cafe\, waiting patiently for us to finish chatting. They don’t even get the bike equivalent of a fluffy to enjoy. \nAnd like most of you\, Team Bike AKL is working from home right now – and our bikes are looking a little wistful than usual. So it’s the perfect opportunity to invite our two-wheeled friends in for a treat. \nBest of all\, there’s no rush\, because breakfast can happen any time of day. Early birds\, late birds\, brunch\, brinner\, you name it\, we’re up for it. \nPost your pics on the Facebook event page to join the fun – or use #bikebreakfastathome if you’re posting on Twitter or Insta. \nWe can’t wait to toast your creativity! (See what we did there…)

SUMMARY:Bike Breakfast - May 2020 #BuyLocalByBike
DESCRIPTION:It’s the start of a new month… which means it’s time for Bike Breakfast again! This month\, join us in your very own neighbourhood – and buy local\, by bike. \nAs last month’s special lockdown-edition Bike Breakfast @ Home showed\, even if we can’t be together in person just yet\, we can still get together at a distance. And in Level 3\, the options just got a little bit wider for you and your bike bubble. \nBack before all this began\, we were often asked: why doesn’t Bike Breakfast happen in *my* neighbourhood? Guess what: it can! With cafes and shops opening back up for contactless business\, it’s the perfect time to bike local and buy local. \nSo\, this month\, taking inspiration from Bike Te Atatu’s “Buy-Cycle” campaign\, we’ll be shopping for breakfast (and more) by bike in our neighbourhoods\, and sharing photos of how easy and nice it is to do so. \nHere’s how it works: \n1. Any time this week\, as many times as you like\, ride to your favourite local place/s and pick up your contactless coffee\, tea\, Milo\, breakfast-to-go – or whatever you need to grab while you’re out. Maybe it’s breakfast for the cat. Or maybe you’re picking up that essential click-and-collect coffee machine? \n2. Share a photo on Twitter\, Insta or our Facebook event wall\, capturing your experience. Feel free to get creative – and\, if you can\, tag in the cafe or shop to show your support. \n3. Add the hashtag so we can follow along: #BuyLocalByBike \nThat’s it! See you at your local 🙂
