DESCRIPTION:Getting between Auckland’s Eastern suburbs and the city on foot or wheels is about to get that much easier\, with Section 2 of the Glen Innes to Tāmaki Drive Shared Path between St Johns Road and Ōrākei Basin almost open to the community!\n\n\n\nCome along on Wednesday 25 May between 9am–10:30am to be among the first to explore the 2.65km section of shared path on foot or wheels\, and stop off at Tahapa Reserve East for a coffee on Waka Kōtahi to celebrate.\n\n\n\nThe path will be open for guests on foot and bikes to access the event location at Tahapa Reserve East.\n\n\nMore access details are available at https://www.nzta.govt.nz/gi2t\n\n\nAdditional information: You can access the path from either end at St Johns Road or Purewa Road (next to Meadowbank Train Station). You can also use any of the local connections at John Rymer Place\, Tahapa Crescent\, Mamaku Street or Harapaki Road.\n\n\n\nBike Auckland will be providing secure bike parking with our Bike Valet at Tahapa Reserve East.

DESCRIPTION:This is a casual\, no-drop ride on the gravel dire roads within the forest. The planned route is about 24Km\, entirely within the forest. \nAny riders on suitable bikes are welcome – the roads a rough in places so not well suited to out-and-out road bikes\, but not so bad that you need a full-suspension mountain bike.\nPace will be determined by the slowest rider in the group\, no one will get left behind. \nThe ride will go ahead\, sunshine or showers\, but may be cancelled or postponed if heavy rain or high winds are forecast. \nRide starts at 9am\, and will take as long as it takes!

DESCRIPTION:Meet us at the Holy Grail Cafe (next to The Vintage Consortium on Central Road) for coffee!\nAfter a bit of a chat we will go for a casual group ride along the North Western\, Waterview path\, and then alongside Te Auaunga Awa (Oakley Creek) to the Young George Cafe in Ōwairaka for snacks!\nIf there are kids with us we will detour to the nearby playground and pumptrack.\nThen we will ride as a group all the way back!\nBring a keepcup for sustainability \nThe route is 90% off-road shared paths. There is a short stretch from the Oakley Creek path to Young George\, which is along a quiet street instead\, but everything else is off road and through parks. DESCRIPTION:FANCY. FIERCE. FUN. \nYou are invited to join the Auckland Fancy Women Bike Ride on Sunday\, September 18th!\nBecause women can change the world\, and the bicycle can help. Women’s visibility in urban spaces is key to claiming the right to the city. Cycling is a powerful way for women to become visible in society and a completely new way to interact with the city.\nFancy Women Bike Ride is an event for women\, organized by women to call for infrastructure and inspiration.\nThe more women who cycle\, the more women will be encouraged to cycle.\nEvery year\, the fancy women bike ride is held on World #CarFreeDay and this year more than 200 cities will be participating in this event.\nWe are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the #fwbr movement. It will be the first one in Tāmaki Makaurau. \nThe Route: \nIt is 5km and it’s flat. We will ride through Viaduct\, Silo Park\, Westhaven and finish the ride at the cafe – Buoy for coffee/drinks.\nA map showing the route will be posted on the event’s page. \nPlease be at “The Cloud” at 2pm.\nWe will start the ride at 2.15pm on the dot. So please don’t be late. \nGUIDELINES: \n\nDress code: Fancy\, fierce\, fabulous (whatever makes you feel beautiful\, strong and great!)\nDecorate your bicycle\, pose for the cameras and take selfies\, greet & smile at people during the ride.\nBe inclusive to all womxn and support those new to cycling (offer help!)\nBring your friends\, mothers\, aunties and sisters and be prepared for a magical morning.\n\nNo registration required. You just need a bike.\nMen can join so long as they ride with us\, not ahead of us. We ask men to dress up as well.
