DESCRIPTION:Find out how we can advocate more effectively for safety for people on bikes on social media and other communication channels. \nTom Flood worked in advertising for many years in Toronto developing brand work on a variety of clients including work on large auto accounts and has most recently been developing creative\, content and strategy through Rovélo Creative (creativebyrovelo.com). He has also been giving talks on communications specifically around strategies to help craft effective messaging. \nTom is a cyclist and great advocate for road safety and people on bikes on social twitter @tomflood1. His message also focuses on children rights for road safety and bike to school.  \nHe currently lives in Hamilton\, Ontario\, Canada with his partner and two kids. \nCome join us to find out how we can advocate more effectively for safety for people on bikes on social media and other communication channels.

George FM stalwart Dan Aux has been moving dancefloors for well over a decade. He’s played the country’s biggest festivals and dancefloors\, shared the DJ booth with some of dance music’s brightest stars\, and has even remixed the legendary Fatboy Slim. \nDon’t miss Dan Aux playing Bike Rave\, the City to Pt Chev Edition. DESCRIPTION:Getting between Auckland’s Eastern suburbs and the city on foot or wheels is about to get that much easier\, with Section 2 of the Glen Innes to Tāmaki Drive Shared Path between St Johns Road and Ōrākei Basin almost open to the community!\n\n\n\nCome along on Wednesday 25 May between 9am–10:30am to be among the first to explore the 2.65km section of shared path on foot or wheels\, and stop off at Tahapa Reserve East for a coffee on Waka Kōtahi to celebrate.\n\n\n\nThe path will be open for guests on foot and bikes to access the event location at Tahapa Reserve East.\n\n\nMore access details are available at https://www.nzta.govt.nz/gi2t\n\n\nAdditional information: You can access the path from either end at St Johns Road or Purewa Road (next to Meadowbank Train Station). DESCRIPTION:We have our monthly coffee-catch up at the Ecomatters Bike Hub on Queens Wharf on Saturday the 11th at 10.30am – there will be a truck parked there\, and we will be getting an overview of being safe around trucks and buses. You will get the opportunity to climb into the drivers seat. \nI encourage you to attend this coffee-catch up/workshop! This group ride will be through parks\, streets\, and bike paths across the gully. It is 9Km long and family friendly. \nTamariki (children) are welcome. Bike Auckland will provide their secure Bike Valet service as the group visits each site on foot.\nGuiding the Art tour is Avondale local Nate Savill\, ObjektCare – coffee enthusiast and expert in full service sculpture restoration\, care and installation. He maintains the sculptures of some of the country’s most eminent artists and is a fantastic raconteur.\n\nAlongside the Art are stories of significant sites and historic events en route. DESCRIPTION:Meet us at Songbird Cafe on Sunday the 19th June from 10am or at MELBA Karaka from 11.15am for a weekend catch-up hosted by Bike Papakura & Takānini and Bike Auckland. \n\nWe’ll start at Songbird cafe at 10am\, where the coffee / hot chocolate is free\, covered by Bike Auckland. After some kōrero (talk)\, we’ll take a 20 minute group ride along the Southern Corridor arriving at MELBA Karaka (Papakura end of the path) by 11.15am.\nAt MELBA Cafe we’ll have some brunch snacks\, also covered by Bike Auckland. When we’re finished\, there will be an opportunity to ride together back to the Takānini end of the path. \n\nBring your bikes for the group ride or just join us for coffee\n– 10am at Songbird\, or\n– 11.15am at MELBA  \n\nWe want to hear your thoughts about Papakura\, Takānini\, and cycling. All bike tribes are welcome\, from the mountain biker to the e-commuter. We’ll have colour-ins available for the little ones and the creatively inclined. \n\nCome along for free warm beverages\, brunch\, and even warmer conversations.
