DESCRIPTION:This event is by Got To Get Out. \n  \nHave you Got To Get A Bicycle\, to attend this years Biketober events & get out riding for summer? \n** Also if you have a bike to donate\, this would be a great time to rehome it to a good cause!** \nSocial enterprise Got To Get Out is displaying all of their recently refurbished bicycles on Saturday October 11th at the Wairau Zero Waste Hub\, located at 9 Porana Road\, Glenfield Auckland. \nBikes available on this day have been lovingly restored to the highest standards at the ‘Got To Get Out Workshop’ @ Wairau Zero Waste Hub\, with thanks to volunteers from the local community. \nGTGO founder Robert Bruce and helpers will help you and/or your family choose the perfect size bike for your needs\, and budget. \nOn show will be a range of kids bikes\, adult bikes\, commuter\, road and mountain bikes ready for test riding and buying. \nPrice range from $40 (kids bike) to around $300. Bring spade/shovel/rake and/or a wheel barrow if you have them\, but no major if you don’t as we have a few that you can use. \nAs always there’ll be a bbq and beverage afterwards along with a good chinwag to debrief. DESCRIPTION:Leave your car brain at home and Jump(er) on a Bike to help us celebrate cycling\, knitting\, and the newly completed joined-up\, continuous cycleway now open on Te Hā Noa – Victoria Street.\nThe New Zealand Fashion Museum\, Bike Auckland and Auckland Council invite you to don your warmest\, oldest\, boldest\, holiest\, most fabulous jumper (or cardigan) and jump on your bike for a jumper-themed bike parade down Te Hā Noa. \n\n5.30pm – Arrive on your bike via Te Hā Noa – Victoria Street West bike path.\nAssemble at the bike racks by Te Waihorotiu Station on the corner of Victoria Street West and Federal Street for registration.\n6pm – Parade/ride down Te Hā Noa past the judges at Elliott Street and regroup at the seating area between Elliott and Queen Street for final judging\n7pm – Park up at the free Bike Auckland Valet Parking in Darby Street and stay on for a hot drink and prizegiving in The Strand Arcade.\n\nThe best-dressed riders will win prizes\, so get creative and ride with pride! \nThe parade kicks off at 6pm – don’t miss it! DESCRIPTION:Bike Kaipatiki is excited to announce a new partnership with Wairau Zero Waste Hub! We’ll be hosting regular bike repair days to rescue bikes from the waste stream and get them back into the community. \nThese bikes will then be donated to our community partners who help people in need. \nJoin us on the 3rd Saturday of every month (except December and January) from 9am to 1pm! \nWhile public servicing isn’t available on these days\, we encourage everyone to come down and see what we’re doing. We also welcome volunteers of all skill levels to lend a hand! DESCRIPTION:All members are warmly invited to this 2025 Special General Meeting. We’ve been working hard to update the Bike Auckland constitution to comply with recent law changes. We’ll be seeking member approval for the new constitution\, which will be shared with you in advance of this meeting. \nIn addition\, we’d like to benefit from having members together to discuss Bike Auckland’s strategic plan. The majority of the afternoon will be devoted to this insightful discussion of our strategy – I can’t wait to hear directly from members on this topic. SUMMARY:[CANCELLED] Bike Kaipātiki – Bike Recycling with Wairau Zero Waste Hub
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED due to unforeseen events affecting the Hub. Next one is likely to go ahead! \n  \nBike Kaipatiki is excited to announce a new partnership with Wairau Zero Waste Hub! We’ll be hosting regular bike repair days to rescue bikes from the waste stream and get them back into the community. \nThese bikes will then be donated to our community partners who help people in need. \nJoin us on the 3rd Saturday of every month (except December and January) from 9am to 1pm! \nWhile public servicing isn’t available on these days\, we encourage everyone to come down and see what we’re doing. We also welcome volunteers of all skill levels to lend a hand! It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience fixing bikes. \nNo pressure to stay the whole time\, and you don’t need to attend every month. \nFeel free to pop in for a bit or the whole session\, and come whenever you’re available. \nHave questions? \nPlease reach out to us and we’ll be happy to chat! \nLet’s work together to reduce waste and get more people on bikes!

DESCRIPTION:Event from Ecomatters Environment Trust and the Whau Local Board\n \nCome along to plant native plants along the Whau Awa! Put on your gumboots and let’s turn this area into thriving stream habitat.\n \nThe place we’re planting is located just past where the Waitahurangi Stream meets the Whau Stream\, and they come together to form the Whau Awa.\n \nThe plants you put in the ground will be enjoyed by native birds and critters\, as well as bike-riders and walkers passing through the New Lynn to Avondale shared path each day.\n \nWe’ll finish with a BBQ together from 12pm.\n \nKids welcome but must be supervised. Wear gumboots or sturdy closed-toe shoes\, and bring your rain jacket and gardening gloves if you have any.\n \nAccess through the back gate of the Daily Bread site – a 2-minute bike ride or 12-minute walk from New Lynn Transport Centre. Bike parking will available.\n \nSupported by Whau Wildlink\, Whau Local Board and Auckland Council Parks.
