SUMMARY:Cycle Chic Film Night #2
DESCRIPTION:Brought to you by the Big Bike Film Night\, a programme of short cycling films on the big screen\, selected to inspire\, encourage and celebrate women who love to bike. Showcasing women who push boundaries\, are courageous\, and are advocates for change; all through the power of the humble bike. It’s the ‘thinking cyclists’ film collection that ALL genders will connect with and enjoy. \nThe Wednesday 15 August screening starts at 7.45pm\, and will finish shortly after 9.25pm. (There is also a Tuesday showing.) \nTickets are available from The Big Bike Film Night website\, or by phoning Brett on 021 748 441. \nDoor sales at the Academy Cinema on the night subject to availability. \nThe line-up features eleven carefully selected short films\, from emerging and established independent film-makers. A magical journey of colour and creativity by an artistic mountain biker; a New Zealand female road cyclist who believes in the power of bicycles\, an enthralling film set in big city America on two (in their own words) ‘bad-ass BMXers’ following their passion; a bicycle store with a unique point of difference; a heart-warming story about migrant women in Amsterdam finding their way into a new society and the liberating feeling of riding a bicycle; and a documentary that focuses on three Nepali women breaking through cultural barriers to spread their love of mountain biking.
