SUMMARY:Street Art Bike Challenge - Ecofest
DESCRIPTION:EcoMatters is thrilled to host the 5th Street Art Bike Challenge this year\, where Aucklanders get out and about by bike to find street art and go in to win $1000 worth of prizes. \nThe Challenge is held in April to make the most of end-of-summer cycling weather\, as well as Easter and the school holidays. \nAll you do is cycle to one of the city’s colourful street art spots; take a pic of you and your bike\, then just load it up online and press submit to enter. Then pedal on to the next arty spot or take a break and do more another day. \nEvery pic you submit puts you in the draw to win end-of-challenge prizes plus weekly spot prizes all around Tāmaki Makaurau\, and you can enter as many times as you like. They understand their community’s needs and wants\, and are ready to share their views.\nThe Bike Champions Forum will provide a bi-monthly opportunity for all Bike Champions to come together to share ideas\, align on goals\, find support for activities\, and build our awesome biking community.\nThe first ever forum was held in January\, and the event provided a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know each other and appreciate the abundance of talent\, knowledge and experience that we have within our community.\nBring your enthusiasm and ideas along to the next Bike Champions Forum online\, 6 – 8pm Wednesday 16 March. You will have the whole month of February to do this.\n\n\nYour bike will need to feature in at least 5 of the photos!\n\n\nThe prize will be a choc fish!\n\n\nMake sure you are signed up to Love to Ride Bike Challenge\, and signed onto our group there (Rainbow Riders Tamaki Makaurau) so your kms rode count towards our group goal of 2000ks.\n\n\nWho’s up for the challenge?

SUMMARY:Whale Tail Tour - Love to Ride Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Looking for a creative way to add some rides to your Aotearoa Bike Challenge tally? Wondering what those cool whale sculptures are that have popped up all over the city?\n\nCheck out the Whale Tale 2022 art trail!\n\nTogether and with the support of many sponsors\, Whale Tales brings a pod of uniquely designed and painted whale tail sculptures to Tāmaki Makaurau – forming a free\, family-friendly public art trail for all to enjoy.\nFeaturing 80 Big Broos (large Tail sculptures) and 80 Pēpi (mini Tail sculptures) that have been turned into bespoke pieces of art by well-known and emerging kiwi artists and schools\, the Tails – inspired by the endangered Bryde’s whale – will tell the “tales” of our moana and how we all have a part to play for a healthy ocean.\nThe mini Tails will be launched on the trail in mid-March\, and when the trail ends\, they will be returned to schools to enjoy\, and the large Tails will be auctioned to raise funds for WWF-New Zealand’s vital work to protect and restore the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana/Te Moananui-à-Toi.\n\nYou can find a map of the tale locations here\, along with a mobile app for whale spotting on the go:\nhttps://whaletales2022.org/art-trail/\n\nOnce you’ve found a whale tale\, be sure to take a photo of it (with your bike!) and post it to your local bike burb\, using the #WhaleTales2022 tag.\nAnd don’t forget to add your ride to the Aotearoa bike challenge page as well!
