DESCRIPTION:Join us whānau for a bike ride to our community food forest Tā Tātou Māra Kai! \nWe’ll depart the Bike Hub (Wesley Community Centre\, 740 Sandringham Rd) at 10am and we’ll ride along Te Auaunga/ Oakley Creek through War Memorial Park and Keith Hay Park to Molley Green Reserve. \nKai will be provided to share a picnic together\, we’ll take a tour of the garden and they’ll be fun kids activities. \nBoth pedal powered and e-bikes are welcome! \nNo problem if you won’t be joining us for the ride\, come join us at the garden from 10.30am onwards. \nBike mechanics will be on site at Bike Hub Mt Roskill at the Wesley Community Centre\, 740 Sandringham Rd on Saturday 13th of April 9am – 1pm if your bike needs a tune-up before the ride. \nWe have a handful of bikes to loan. DESCRIPTION:Did you know you can ride for miles in most directions from Pt Chev\, almost entirely free from traffic? Join us for the first of what we hope will be many local bike adventures\, exploring off-road connected bike paths in our hood and beyond! \nWe’ll gather in the town square outside the library\, then head off\, on an out-and-back ride of ~14km. It’s about half an hour in each direction\, so expect to be on the move for around an hour\, not counting stops to explore. \nOn our return to Pt Chev we’ll hang out at Nomad for a chat. Feel free to stick around! \n• Given the length of this initial ride\, it’s more suitable for adults and teens. Once we’ve tested the concept\, we’re planning future rides more suitable for families with children. (If you do want to ride along this time\, there’s a natural turnaround point that would make for a shorter 5km route.) \n• This ride is entirely off-road and on quiet streets\, with a couple of road crossings. \n• Drop us a line below to let us know you’re coming\, so we can plan ahead. DESCRIPTION:It’s Biketober and in Puketāpapa/ Mt Roskill we’re celebrating with a fabulous community event which is open to everyone! Join our Family Bike Ride on Saturday 26th October and celebrate the joy of cycling. \nWe’ll meet at the children’s playground in Keith Hay Park at 1pm to ride a loop around the park finishing up with a drink and treat from Lil Cuzzies cafe. \nThis ride is entirely flat\, all ages welcome! And all types of wheels – bikes\, scooters\, e-bikes\, cargo bikes\, mobility scooters.\nWe have some bikes that can be loaned – message our page or email puketapapaclimateaction@gmail.com to arrange.
