DESCRIPTION:Did you know you can ride for miles in most directions from Pt Chev\, almost entirely free from traffic? Join us for the first of what we hope will be many local bike adventures\, exploring off-road connected bike paths in our hood and beyond! \nWe’ll gather in the town square outside the library – then head off\, on an out-and-back ride of ~14km. It’s about half an hour in each direction\, so expect to be on the move for around an hour\, not counting stops to explore. \nOn our return to Pt Chev we’ll hang out at Nomad for a chat. Feel free to stick around! \n• Given the length of this initial ride\, it’s more suitable for adults and teens. Once we’ve tested the concept\, we’re planning future rides more suitable for families with children. (If you do want to ride along this time\, there’s a natural turnaround point that would make for a shorter 5km route.) \n• This ride is entirely off-road and on quiet streets\, with a couple of road crossings. \n• Drop us a line below to let us know you’re coming\, so we can plan ahead. Meet at the Bike Hub in the Falls Carpark to ride with us. We’ll also make a stop at the Te Atatu Rd underpass at 6.45pm\, to collect anyone wanting to join in from there. \nAlso feel free to make your own way to Mr Illingsworth – some of us should still be there until at least 10:00pm\, venue closes at 11:00pm. \n(And in future\, after the opening of the Westgate to Lincoln Rd extension of the NW Cycleway in August\, we’ll add a Bike Massey guided ride.)

DESCRIPTION:These Riverhead rides are on unmaintained rough singletrack NOT on the gravel roads and will alternate on Wednesdays between the STRIP RD carpark\, the FORESTRY RD carpark and the ROBINSON RD carpark so please take note of the location and also note that this is not the WCRC Compound so please don’t wait at that location. \nThese rides are not for beginners but for intermediate and above riders who have some mountain bike experience and want to step up from riding at Woodhill. No drop policy and will wait at junctions to re group. \nArrive by 5:15pm hit the trails at 5.30pm ride for approx 2 hours – no set tracks decided on\, we will make a selection on the night.\n*NOTE* There are no change or toilet facilities at any of these locations. \nLOCATION: Riverhead Forest – Forestry Rd carpark\, near Riverhead. \nDIRECTIONS: Turn right on to Old North Rd from State Highway 16 at the big roundabout and after 2km at the next roundabout turn right onto Riverhead Rd\, then after 1km left on to Deacon Rd.
