SUMMARY:New date: Te Auaunga (Oakley Creek) Family Safari Ride
DESCRIPTION:This will be a chilled 2.7km ride for families with small children or grandparents with grandchildren. No minimum rider age\, even balance bikes will be fine. \nOn the Moonlight Ride last year we had lots of toddlers hooning it on their balance bikes. Our destination will be the playground at Owairaka Park. We will have morning tea there\, bring your favourite snacks and drinks. We will stop on the way back at the Pump Track in Underwood Park. There is another playground in that park as well. \nWe’ll ride at a comfortable pace to suit all riders\, with regular regroup points. \nIf you haven’t been along this section of the Awa\, go here to see the background to its story.

A series of four easy\, whānau-friendly rides\, starting on Sunday\, 1 February. Each ride is about enjoying time together\, building confidence on bikes\, and discovering safe\, family-friendly ways to get around Māngere Bridge by bike. \nWe’ll ride at a relaxed pace\, with plenty of time to look around\, have fun\, and learn practical tips for cycling with kids. This includes route choice\, crossing points\, riding etiquette\, and sharing paths with others. These rides are perfect for families\, kids\, beginners\, and anyone getting back on a bike. \nEveryone is welcome\, and nobody gets left behind. The journey is the fun part. At the end of each ride\, we’ll enjoy free refreshments and a relaxed chance to ask bike-related questions or get to know your local cycling neighbours. \nPlease bring your own bike and helmet (safety first). E-bikes are welcome\, but the pace will suit regular bikes.
