DESCRIPTION:We’re celebrating our LGBTQI+ community and the Karangahape Road cycle network with colourful yarn bombs this Pride Month.\nTake a stroll or cycle along K’ Road to admire the bike parking decorated with joyful knitted and crocheted designs. \nWe would love for you to join in the fun!\nKnit or crochet a scarf:\nWidth – 14cm or 5.5Inches wide (not stretched)\nLength – anywhere up to 260cm or 103 Inches\nYour scarf may be Pride-flag inspired – or not! \nSew it onto the bike parking yourself from mid January\, or send your scarf to\n– the Electric Bike Team (29 East Street\, Auckland Central\, Auckland 1010)\, or\n– the Auckland Pride Office (281 Karangahape Road\, Auckland Central\, Auckland 1010).\nWe’ll make sure it gets put up. Each ride explores a different part of the neighbourhood and includes practical tips along the way to help families feel more confident getting around by bike. \nThese rides are all about enjoying time together\, building confidence on bikes\, and discovering safe\, family-friendly ways to travel locally\, with free treats at the end of each ride as a bonus. \nWe’ll ride at a relaxed pace (nobody gets left behind)\, with plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of Hobsonville. Along the way\, we’ll share tips for cycling with kids and answer any questions you have about riding around the area or cycling in general. \nChildren 6 years and older can ride on their own bikes. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a whānau friendly cycle to the beach!\nMeet us at Bike Hub Queen’s Wharf with your beach gear and your bike! \n*****\nThis is an ideal ride for people who want to build their cycling confidence in a fun\, social setting. All bodies and all bikes are welcome. \nFrom 10.00am\, join us at Bike Hub Queen’s Wharf. The hub will be open for bike checks and second hand bike sales. \nOur beginner-friendly group ride will begin with a casual meander up Queen Street. We will be riding on a mixture of shared pathways\, quiet streets\, and protected cycleways\, including the new Great North Road cycleway and a half-way stop at Grey Lynn Park pump track. You can see the route here. \nWe will be cycling at a social\, easy pace. The 10km route includes some hilly sections. We will have rest stops at the top of the hills\, making sure everyone is ready to go before we set off again. \nOnce we arrive at the beach we’ll park up with the free secure bike valet parking so we can enjoy our beach time worry-free. You are welcome to split off and do your own thing once we arrive. The 5km route is mostly flat\, and we will have rest stops at the top of any hills\, making sure everyone is ready to go before we set off again. \nOnce we arrive at the beach we’ll park up with the free secure bike valet parking so we can enjoy our beach time worry-free. You are welcome to split off and do your own thing once we arrive.
