SUMMARY:Waiheke Fridge Crawl.... by bike
DESCRIPTION:Pub Crawl? You’ve probably all heard of that…We thought we’d shake things up this years Bike-tober a bit and do a fridge crawl by bicycle!\n\nWe have partnered with Love Food Hate Waste (LFHW) to bring you an evening of tasty kai\, social riding and an unusual tour of Waiheke.\nLFHW have funded us so we can give each ‘host’ house a voucher to support them to make a number of small dishes from their website. These dishes are designed to minimise food waste\, cook creatively and they are easy peasy!\nhttps://lovefoodhatewaste.co.nz/\n\nWe will have about 45minutes in each house to socialise\, rehydrate and eat some waste busting recipes from our wonderful hosts. We do not encourage drinking and riding but if you’d like to bring some BYO fluids to enjoy at the last house please feel free.\n\nThis event is limited to 20 places so book in quick by emailing cawaiheke@gmail.com\nIf you’d like to book in to be a host house get in touch ASAP.\n\nOnce you register you will receive the route and starting address. The total route will not exceed 10km.\nThis is a free event\, funded by Waiheke Local Board and LFHW.\n\nContact on the day\nCarys- 022 697 4419\n

SUMMARY:Journey by bicycle along Oakley Creek
DESCRIPTION:Date: October 2nd\, 2022 \nTime: 9:00am – 12:00pm \nHaere mā runga paihikara mā Te Auaunga (Journey by bicycle along Oakley Creek) \nDetails. Sunday October 2nd\, Start 9:00am Finish 12:00pm – Start at Molley Green Reserve close to the source of the Awa\, and finish at Waterview Reserve where the Awa empties into the Waitematā. \nThis is a lovely 11km (one way) gentle ride on off road paths that will suit families and new riders. The ride will be fine for all levels of fitness. The suggestion for minimum rider age is 8 years. This route will be suitable for all types of bikes. \nOur guide and storyteller will be Wendy John\, the Project Manager of Ngā Ringa o Te Auaunga – Friends of Oakley Creek\, which was established in 2004 to raise the profile of the Awa amongst the wider community\, and to increase recognition of the value and potential of Oakley Creek and its surrounds. We will stop at different points along the path where Wendy will tell us what will/might happen in that area. We will spend some time helping volunteers from Friends of Oakley Creek care for plants and trees that have recently been planted alongside the Awa at Harbutt Reserve. At the end of the ride\, there will be an opportunity for people to explore the Waterview Heritage Area. There will be an opportunity to make a koha to the mahi of Ngā Ringa o Te Auaunga – Friends of Oakley Creek. \nCoffee. The plan is to provide an after-ride coffee and light lunch nearby at Daily Bread\, we will provide details closer to the time. A number of us will be riding back to Mt Roskill/Puketāpapa pa after lunch\, so if you plan to drive to the start\, you will have good company for the ride back. \nRegistration. We want to ensure that this ride will work for you\, so knowing that you are coming\, and anything you want us to know is important. Can we ask you to register here please.

SUMMARY:529 Registration Station - Wynyard Quarter\, CBD
DESCRIPTION:The Rainbow Riders will register your bike to 529 Garage\, and give you a 529 shield. We’ll also have Rainbow Riders stickers and free iceblocks \nFrom 10am to 1pm we will be by the Waterfront Container Library (Quay st side of the Wynyard Crossing walking and riding bridge)\n529 Garage is a free bike registration system which helps to get bikes that are stolen back to their owners. A QR code will be available for contact tracing.\nLet us know if you’d like to help us register bikes!
