We actively want all family and friends to come along and enjoy the day with us for a relaxed and fun morning\, each day ending in a picnic/bbq. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together\, show support for diversity\, and ride in solidarity for a more inclusive future. \nThe event kicks off at the Wesley Community Centre and follows a scenic route towards the Rainbow Path\, located at the corner of Great North Road and Carrington Road. As we ride through the streets\, participants will experience the energy and unity of the LGBTQIA+ community\, proudly wearing rainbow colours and helmets. Upon return\, we’ll gather for a relaxed social event featuring a sausage sizzle and ice blocks available for a gold coin donation. \nAll proceeds will support our rainbow rangatahi in Puketāpapa\, ensuring that young members of the LGBTQIA+ community have the resources and support they need. This is more than just a bike ride; it’s a celebration of pride\, love\, and acceptance. DESCRIPTION:Do you want to explore Grey Lynn and further afield using the cycleways? There are many safe new cycle ways to get out west from Grey Lynn/Ponsonby.\n \nCome join a fun social group ride\, meet some other local cyclists to see how the routes link up\, and can take you near and far by bike.\n \nYou will meet other local cyclists at the Bike Hub in Grey Lynn Park (next to the pump track).\n \nWe will ride cycle ways and quiet roads through Pt Chev and Waterview\, Auckland to Bike Hub New Lynn for a coffee break (refreshments provided)\, before heading back.\n \nSuitable for push bikes and e bikes. Cruise in a friendly bike gang with retro tunes for the whole family along the Te Auaunga shared path from Mt Albert to Waterview.\n \nOnce at the Envirohub (Methodist Church grounds) there will be a dance\, and opportunity to have a picnic on the grass or partake in food from the vendors. \n \n\nWhile the ride will follow mostly shared bike paths\, there will be short sections of road and everyone is ultimately in charge of their own safety and safety of their own children.\n\n \n\nWhen: Friday 26th\, 4.30pm (ride till 5.30\, event runs till approx 8pm)\nWhere: Start at Young George Cafe 86A Hendon Ave Owairaka\, Ride the bike path with pumping tines on Josca’s bike trailer\, finish with Disco and food trucks at the Waterview Envirohub\, 1547 Great North Road\n \n \n

This Biketober\, we’ve organised our first event: a City Centre Loop ride & free gelato at Gelatiamo on Sunday 5 October\, thanks to @bikeakl & @not.really.joni. If all goes well\, we’d love to make Radiqal Rides a regular thing! \nMeet us at Bike Hub Queens Wharf (opposite Britomart Station) at 2PM! We’ll ride the 6.7km city loop (≈50 mins) together at a pace that works for everyone – this is a ‘no-drop’ ride\, which means no one gets left behind. Ride leader Joni (they/them) will guide us\, with a tail rider to keep the crew together. \nAll bodies & all bikes welcome. Just 15 spots (& 15 gelatos) available – bookings required via our website!
