All bodies and all bikes are welcome. \nFrom 11am\, join us at Bike Hub Grey Lynn. We’ll have the hub open for bike checks and second hand bike sales. You or your littlies can also have a go on the pump track before we set off. \nOur beginner-friendly group ride will begin with a calm cruise through Grey Lynn’s greenways. We will be riding on a mixture of shared pathways\, protected cycleways\, and quiet streets. You can see the route here. \nWe will be cycling at a social\, easy pace. The 5km route is mostly flat\, and we will have rest stops at the top of any hills\, making sure everyone is ready to go before we set off again. \nOnce we arrive at the beach we’ll park up with the free secure bike valet parking so we can enjoy our beach time worry-free. You are welcome to split off and do your own thing once we arrive. A series of four easy\, whānau-friendly rides\, starting on Sunday\, 1 February. Each ride is about enjoying time together\, building confidence on bikes\, and discovering safe\, family-friendly ways to get around Māngere Bridge by bike. \nWe’ll ride at a relaxed pace\, with plenty of time to look around\, have fun\, and learn practical tips for cycling with kids. This includes route choice\, crossing points\, riding etiquette\, and sharing paths with others. These rides are perfect for families\, kids\, beginners\, and anyone getting back on a bike. \nEveryone is welcome\, and nobody gets left behind. The journey is the fun part. At the end of each ride\, we’ll enjoy free refreshments and a relaxed chance to ask bike-related questions or get to know your local cycling neighbours. \nPlease bring your own bike and helmet (safety first). E-bikes are welcome\, but the pace will suit regular bikes. DESCRIPTION:Join us to ride Te Ara I Whiti on its tenth anniversary.\nTe Ara I Whiti\, the Lightpath was a bold idea to repurpose a disused motorway off-ramp and  turn it into a path for people. Without the early spark and persuasive energy of Bike Auckland’s Max Robitzsch and Barb Cuthbert\, it might still be an unrealised concept. Now this glowing pink ribbon with incredible views is a joyful\, iconic part of our city\, and a cornerstone of the growing network which connects more Aucklanders to where they want to go. \nThe path opened on 3rd December 2015\, after being constructed in a remarkable 9 months from idea to opening. \nFast forward ten years\, and we want to mark this milestone with all of you! Please join us for a celebratory event on the morning of Wednesday 3 December. \nWe are looking for keen riders to help us mark the occasion\nIf you plan on coming along on your bike to ride the path with us for a photo opportunity\, please register your attendance as soon as possible. This allows us to send out any useful info close to the time. \nMeet outside the Electric Bike Team shop by the Canada St end of the path at 8am. We’ll set off soon after. DESCRIPTION:This event is by Got To Get Out. \n  \nGot to get social for the almost-end of #Biketober 2025? \nOn Wednesday night\, 29th October\, we’re opening the huge roller-door to our workshop for a free BBQ and catch up. \nThis night is an open-invite exploration of our vibrant workshop + growing collection of retro and vintage bicycles\, lovingly restored here as part of our ‘Got To Get A Bike’ sustainability initiative. \nIt’s a nice opportunity for the bike community to gather and meet\, chat and get to know one another – offline for a change! \nWe welcome anyone to attend\, in particular those interested in viewing our growing collection of restored (mostly 80s and 90s) bikes. \n************************************************* \nDeets: \n530pm roller-doors open\, BBQ on\, \n615pm-ish eating \n630 (or when everyone arrives) Rob says a few words \n8pm (or when we kick everyone out) wrap time. \n  \n************************************************* \nLocation: \nThe location is Got To Get Out Workshop\, inside the Wairau Zero Waste Hub. The exact spot is 5/9 Porana Rd. Access is via the driveway next to Pak N Save. \n************************************************* \nCatering: \nPlease enjoy a meaty or veggie sausage in bread on us\, just BYO something to drink. Gluten free bread available. \n******************************************************** \nWhat to bring? \n\nBringing your own bikes to show off is welcome and encouraged!\nIf you have bikes or parts to get rid of\, this is a great time to drop them off for re-use by us. Take an after-dark ride along Te Ara I Whiti\, the light path (also known as the pink path) for your very own light show. Then ride on to check out the dazzling Vector Lights on the Auckland Harbour Bridge. \nHere are some suggestions for locations you can ride to to watch Vector Lights on the Auckland Harbour Bridge: \n\nWesthaven Marina\nSilo Park\nThe end of Halsey Wharf (just out from the Viaduct Events Centre)\nThe end of Princes Wharf (outside the Hilton Auckland hotel)\nThe end of Queens Wharf (in front of The Cloud and The Lighthouse)\nLittle Shoal Bay\nHinemoa Park next to the Birkenhead Ferry Terminal\nTop of Maungawhau Mt Eden\nBayswater Marina\nTop of Takurunga Mt Victoria\n\nOn Monday 20 October\, 7pm – 9pm at Silo Park there will also be a range of glow-in-the-dark creative activities.
