DESCRIPTION:Join Zara (pronouns: they/them) at Bike Hub Queen’s Wharf for the first session in our series of three sessions on cycle maintenance 101 for WTQ participants. \nThese practical\, hands-on workshops are suitable for beginners and best suited to people aged 16 and above. You’ll be learning how to look after your bike alongside other women\, trans\, and queer folks\, with skilled mechanics also from these communities\, in a friendly environment. \nThese workshops aim to build your confidence to discover more bike repair skills at Bike Hubs all over Tāmaki Makaurau. You are welcome to stay at the end to continue chatting and connecting with other attendees. \nSession one: Tyres \nMake sure you don’t get stranded with a flat tyre! \nAt this Tyres 101 workshop\, our WTQ mechanics will take you step by step through: \n\nassessing tyre safety\nchoosing a tyre for your needs\ninner tube puncture repair\n\nBring your own bike to practice on if you can. There will also be a couple of bikes available to borrow for the session if needed. \nSpaces are limited so please register to secure your spot.

Bring your bike and your questions! \nThese workshops aim to build your confidence to discover more bike repair skills during regular open hours at Bike Hubs all over Tāmaki Makaurau. You are welcome to stay at the end to continue chatting and connecting with other attendees and enjoy a fizzy drink with us! \nBring along your bike to practice on\, if you can\, and wear weather appropriate clothing please.
