DESCRIPTION:This a social ride. It is perfect if you have just done Rick’s course and want to work on those skills. It is also suitable for beginners\, building up your fitness/confidence or if you just want a social ride. We will warm up on the Family Loop and then head up the hill to split into groups depending on ability and inclination. The pace ranges from quite slow to nearly intermediate and the ride atmosphere is relaxed and everyone is welcome. \nThe ride can be between 1 and 2 hours long\, with turn around points if you decide you’ve had enough. \nEntry to Woodhill is $15 or less with a season pass. \nPlease register through meetup.com \nLooking forward to riding with you. \nLinda

Luke will show you how to do a basic inspection to ensure your bike is in safe working order\, how to clean your bike and make minor adjustments\, and how to fix the dreaded flat tyre\, breaks\, gears and more if time permits.\n– Participants are encouraged to bring along their own bikes so they can become familiar with the mechanics of their own bike. If you don’t have a bike\, not to worry we have plenty.\n* Outcome:\nLearn how to do a maintenance check and naming parts of a bike\, removing and fitting a wheel\, fixing a puncture\,\nbike cleaning\, lubrication and more.\n* On the day:\n– Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the course start time.\n– Look for the AT & OBB flags and our instructor with bikes.\n– Courses are weather dependent.\nWe look forward to seeing you then! From 3pm\, the street will light up with live music across multiple stages\, outdoor screenings and indoor exhibitions\, Matariki markets\, free kai and fusion boil-ups\, fashion installations in shop windows\, fresh street art on Poynton Terrace\, free workshops and walking tours\, bicycle valets and guided rides\, plus a smorgasbord of special offers from locals shops and restaurants. With sunset scheduled for 5.15pm\, the celebrations will be lit well into the evening!\nA Matariki hub\, with a kaupapa inviting creatives into an interactive space to share their skills\, will be set up at 211 Karangahape Road. From Thursday 24 June to Saturday 10 July\, this public space will host a photographic exhibition alongside a series of wānanga and creative workshops.\nFollow the lights or chase the whai along the length of Karangahape Road\, around the top of Pitt Street and over the ridge to Cross Street. We will start at the Alan Wood reserve (entrances on New North Road & Bollard Avenue) and meander along the pathway\, over the bridge and through the underpass\, following the route of Oakley Creek to Mt Roskill War Memorial Park\, then loop back to retrace our tracks and finish at the Underwood Park pump track (handily placed for coffee break at Young George cafe in Hendon Ave).\nAn easy 7km ride along designated pedestrian and bike pathways with only one road to cross over\, this will suit newbie riders as well as more experienced cyclists. Suitable for all ages; under 16s to be accompanied by adults.\nBYO bike\, water\, sunscreen etc.

DESCRIPTION:Pōhutukawa Pedal is gracing Auckland’s streets for Sunday the 12th December! Join us at 3.30pm for a festive ride filled with the spirit of giving and celebrating.\nWe’ll meet at the top of Western Park (Ponsonby road)\, ride together to Te Tāpui Atawhai (Auckland City Mission) to drop off our donations of food or gifts\, then finish up at Silo Park for a well deserved picnic (covid depending). Bike Auckland will provide the kai (food) so all you have to bring is the kids and a donation.\nThe route will take us along the Karangahape road cycleway\, Te Ara i Whiti (The Lightpath)\, then from the City Mission down Nelson street\, the new Viaduct Cycleway\, and around Queens Wharf to Silo Park – all on protected bike paths so it’s a suitable ride for the whole family!
