Sorry\, folks – we’ll try again next year!  \nFor this event\, the Falls Carpark on Alderman Drive in Henderson will be transformed into an open-air cinema for local families to enjoy\, with food trucks\, entertainment\, and family favourite Ratatouille lighting up the big screen. \nBest of all\, instead of a drive-in movie\, it’s a walk-in\, bike-in\, bus-or-train-to event! \nThe movie starts at 6pm at The Falls Carpark. \nArriving by bike or on foot? Check out the Bike Auckland Discovery Trail along the Henderson Creek path and the Opanuku Stream path for a jazzed-up journey.  From 4-6pm these two paths will feature pop-up arts and circus activities – visit the action stations to collect tokens that you can swap for food truck discounts and VIP seating at the movie. \nAlso: two group rides will be meeting at 4pm to head to the movie along the paths\, and then home again afterwards around 8pm. It’s the ‘thinking cyclists’ film collection that ALL genders will connect with and enjoy. \nThe Tuesday 14 August screening starts at 6pm\, and will finish shortly after 7:40pm. There is also a Wednesday showing. \nTickets are available from The Big Bike Film Night website\, or by phoning Brett on 021 748 441. \nDoor sales at the Academy Cinema on the night subject to availability. \nThe line-up features eleven carefully selected short films\, from emerging and established independent film-makers. A magical journey of colour and creativity by an artistic mountain biker; a New Zealand female road cyclist who believes in the power of bicycles\, an enthralling film set in big city America on two (in their own words) ‘bad-ass BMXers’ following their passion; a bicycle store with a unique point of difference; a heart-warming story about migrant women in Amsterdam finding their way into a new society and the liberating feeling of riding a bicycle; and a documentary that focuses on three Nepali women breaking through cultural barriers to spread their love of mountain biking.

Cool Earth helps indigenous communities on the front lines of rainforest destruction earn more from keeping the forest standing than they would otherwise earn from clearing it. DESCRIPTION:Bike Rave is back!\nBust out the fairy lights\, strap some speakers to your bike\, dress up in your wildest costume and join us for the most fun you can have on two wheels.\nBike Rave starts with a carpark party on the corner of Ian McKinnon Drive and Upper Queen Street. There’ll be a chance for you to show off your bike-creation\, and have a wiggle to a DJ before we head off on a 6.5km sunset cruise\, surprising and delighting the public as we go.\nThe ride takes us down the northwestern bike path to Waterview\, where we’ll roll into Eric Armishaw Park in style along a boardwalk over a field of mangroves.\nHere we’ll park up and party next to the water’s edge to the sounds of a DJ using the high-fidelity wizardry of Silent Disco NZ headsets. DESCRIPTION:Assembling at 11am for a 11.10am departure\, meet us at the forecourt of the Auckland War Memorial Museum. \nFrom there\, we’ll go across Grafton Bridge\, then down Upper Queen St to connect to the North Western Cycleway. We’ll stop for 10mins at Nixon Park carpark (around 11.30am) before heading 10mins down to the famous Rainbow Bridge for selfies\, then heading down Pt Chevalier Rd to arrive at BGO where we can park our bikes with the Bike Auckland Bike Valet service! \nYou’ll need to make sure your bike is road worthy\, have a helmet\, and bring a drink bottle. Some of the route is on-road\, so you’ll need to be confident riding on the road. Please follow the road rules while on this ride. \nBe loud and proud\, and come join us as we Ride with Pride to the BGO!
