Our end-of-year meeting – come and raise a glass!

Bike Auckland

1 min read

Goodness. Has it really been a year since we relaunched as Bike Auckland, and had that massive party in our favourite old venue? A year since Lightpath opened… and Nelson St… and so much has happened since (SkyPath, woot!) that frankly we’re in a bit of a whirl.

So our last meeting for the year is a chance for everyone to catch their breath and count our blessings – and springboard into next year, with a sneak preview of what’s ahead.

When: Monday 28 November 2016, 6pm-8pm

Where: Our favorite new venue – the secret library, upstairs at The Original on the Viaduct.

What: Nibbles and a cash bar, plus…

Special guests: The project teams from Auckland Transport, who’ll talk us through plans for a suite of four exciting projects coming to the eastern side of town in the New Year:

  • The Parnell safe route, up Gladstone to Parnell Road.
  • The Quay St cycleway extension to The Strand…
  • …and then more cycleway linking Quay St to the GI-Tamaki path…
  • …and some answers to what’s happening on the Ngapipi Rd/ Tamaki Drive bridge.

We know you’re eager to hear about progress and connections and solutions.

Plus, how lucky are you feeling? We’ll also have some goodies to share/ raffle/ give away — Jonathan Kennett’s glorious new coffee table book, Tour Aotearoa, plus some double passes to the fabulous documentary Le Ride, which re-enacts the 1928 Tour de France through the eyes of the forgotten Down Under team, and starts its local run in cinemas from mid-December. (Cheers to the good people at Madman Entertainment for sharing the love!)

Right. Drinks, nibbles, news, and prizes. Sounds good. See you there!
