Rhys Jones, senior lecturer at University of Auckland, spoke at the summit for OraTaiao: New Zealand Climate & Health Council – a group of medical professionals and students concerned about population health and climate change.
His talk in the video focused on two key things: how cycling can be made more popular among Maori and Pacifica people, and the need to encourage it not only as a remedy to health and equity issues for the community – but to turn it into something in people’s everyday lives. To make a lasting change, rather than a much less effective one-off effort.
